Hi all,
Haven't been around for a while. Just updating you. I get my first knee operation done Thursday then my second done (same knee) a month or two later. Will be 6 months for full recovery from 2nd op but may be paddling Liffey/Boyne within a month of 2nd op. Will miss Descent as going to NY and Vegas to renew wedding vows infront of Elvis.

Best of luck with the operation Krystyn. I know it's frustrating but don't put yourself under pressure to get back paddling. I did and now I'm out again. Renewing your vows eh. And there's me thinking they couldn't hang a man twice.

Had the op last week and the inside of my knee is a bit messier than they thought. Had to reattach a lot of articular cartilage with darts into the bone. I'm in a full leg brace for 6 weeks, then they go inside to see how it all looks. They reconstruct the ligament further on down the line. My boss just delivered a fax to my house. Don't know if that's good news or bad. USA trip cancelled. Elvis must wait. Don't know when I'll be back on the water. Might try to get to the river bank for the Descent.

Jesus lad ! if you had asked my advice about certain activities which involve swinging from the ceiling chandilier in certain crotchless super hero outfits, i would have advised stress testing it first thereby reducing the risk of serious injury. anyway all the best

Sounds tricky... and painful, but keep the head up Krystyn and hopefully it won't take too long to mend.

Hey all. Especialy hey to you Bernard, you sly dog, texting my wife pretending to see how I'm doing. Here's the update: still on crutches (113 days so far, plus a few days when I haven't needed them), 1 op to go, hopefully in 2 weeks, then recovery and maybe some kayaking by summer! Anyone want to try out a Pyranha Ammo while it sits in my shed rusting?
