Jane, I hope you're well now . This Sunday it's our turn to run the trip, any idea where to go? wForecast is not great so ,unless people want to practice rescue or Bernard has miraculous news (have you?) about Liffey release, Wicklow and Liffey are bad directions. Last Sunday's RH expedition seemed to be successful so if anybody wants to repeat it or has another cool suggestions pls let know, otherwise we'll see at Stackallen at 10.30 am my contact: Bohdan 0851051508

how about a liffey run as there will be a release for the Sluice sluts. we could start in Leixlip and whoever wants can stay with the playboaters at the Sluice and the rest could paddle on to Strawhall...... Just an idea and handy for me as Joe is at the Sluice anyway..... ;-)

Ok folks, As RH elder body (together with one newbie better known as a Lucan swimmer) decided to celebrate some freestyle rituals this Sunday at St.Sluice Temple, we, the young RH wing, need to show that we're not afraid of going beyond our limits and are able to do something that will scare the others YES! lets do THE TRIP DOWN THE HORRIFYING LIFFEY RIVER!!!
but, as our 1st Liffey Trip anniversary is close, lets turn back the clock and do it in special way like we used to do a year ago: Lets carry the boats on river bank to avoid deadly Sluice, Lets stop above Lucan for a quarter, terrified of getting too close to the edge of the weir and then slide down in panic far away from the boxes, Lets close our eyes going down Anna Liffey, Lets stop for a lunch for an hour with plenty of hot tea and sandwiches, chat about those who disappeared from noble WW community to run so called 'normal' life and then lets capsize trying to get back to the boat on river bank, and finally Lets by all means avoid the V on Wrens Nest (not mentioning stopper on the right) and slide down using PLF technique trying to stay above the water however capsize and swim caught by never forgiving rapid, and after all that Lets boast our skills over a pint in Strawhall if somebody needs a thrill of hardcore can ask Connor for always wet cag (remember the red ones?) or ever cold ICU boots
Ok folks maybe I went too far
This Sunday 2,5 Megs is expected on Liffey from around 11am, so the Trip is as follows: 10am meeting at Sluice car park-those who don't need to do a shuttle (Ariane) can come at 10.30, then run to Strawhall, cu tomorrow Bohdan

I'll be there.
very embarassed to saw that with my useless sense of direction I can't remember where the Sluice carpark is or how to get there?
I have vague recollections of going to Lucan and then parking in a skinny carpark on the right hand side of the road, but to be honest some directions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Elaine

Hi Elaine,
directions to Sluice carpark: cross Lucan bridge (from N to S) then turn right on roundabout and follow Main Str., then another right at crossing to Celbridge Rd, follow it and just before the bridge on N4 take turn to car park on RHS, there's a beam above entrance so don't come in a big lorry. If you had any problems give me a ring.
